Troubleshooting

Diagnose common profile, authentication, terminal, SFTP, Master Password, and Share Link problems.

Start with the exact error and the smallest safe test. Avoid changing several server settings at once.

Connection timed out

  • Confirm the host and port.
  • Check whether the server is online and reachable from the internet or the configured network path.
  • Verify firewall/security-group rules.
  • Try the same account from a trusted SSH client to separate a server issue from a TermiGram issue.

Connection refused

The host answered but nothing accepted the selected port. Confirm that SSH is running and listening on that port.

Permission denied

  • Confirm the username.
  • For a password, enter the current server password.
  • For a key, confirm that the matching public key is installed for that account.
  • Check server authentication policy and logs if you administer the host.

Red or locked shield

The profile uses Master Password protection, but the current device cannot unlock the saved secret. Re-enter or re-save the credential. Support cannot recover the original Master Password.

Terminal opens but commands fail

Read the prompt and command output. The account may lack permissions, use a different shell, or need an absolute path. TermiGram does not grant additional server privileges.

SFTP cannot edit or upload

Check directory ownership, file permissions, free disk space, and whether the server allows SFTP for the account.

The link may be expired, revoked, or out of activations. Ask the owner to inspect the active-link list and create a new link only if access is still appropriate.

Still blocked

Send a redacted report to @TermiGram_Support_Bot. Include the affected area, exact error, device/client, time, and what you already checked.
